The Last Night of the Othawa King 3

King Nguvu. A beautiful lion who ruled a large territory in the Sabi Sands game reserve in South Africa, in his prime, showed us on this day that nature is cruel and overconfidence can be deadly out in the wild. We were fortunate to spend his last day with him. We followed him for hours this particular evening as he responded to a roar from his neighbours' territory. A territory where the infamous and deadly Birmingham coalition of two reigns. We left him as he moved further and further into enemy territory. Three days later his remains were found where we left him. Nobody will ever know what his final hours were like, or what drove him into their territory and ultimately to his death. But the last images of him will live forever as a reminder of his magnificence.
