His name was King Nguvu, aka the Othawa Male. He was the son of the Majingilanes and grandson of the legendary Mapogo Male Lions, a solitary male ruling in a world of coalitions and danger. He was formidable and confident, brave and bold, and he was at his prime when he confidently marched into the territory of the infamous Birmingham brothers. The morning of this photo was his last: that evening he met his end in a battle with the Birmingham brothers. Nobody knows why he marched so confidently to his death. We can only speculate…and remember his intense stare.
