Polar bears are some of the most daring moms of the animal kingdom. They navigate a treacherous terrain to keep their cubs safe and well-fed. In a world that's rapidly changing and becoming less hospitable, their strength and determination are unmatched. We spent two days on and off with this mom and her cubs as she traversed the landscape of the Svalbard archipelago, swimming to ice floes and ice bergs to find safe spaces to sleep and feed her cubs. Some of the most special memories I have of the many hours I have spent in the wild.
